The Allmende-Kontor

A network for urban community gardens in Berlin

The Allmende-Kontor is a civil network to support Berlin’s community gardens and urban agriculture projects. A group of thirteen - made up of experienced garden activists, researchers and friends of urban gardening and -agriculture - founded the organization together in 2010. Since then, the network works together cooperatively with community gardens as well as different social and civil initiatives, foundations, research supporters, and government - in Berlin and across Germany.

The Allmende-Kontor's support is as divers as the meaning of community gardens for the urban space and society: see Kontor. The Allmende-Kontor-Community garden on the Tempelhofer Feld was initiated by Allmende-Kontor and is now self-organized by the over 500 gardeners. There are many more waiting to join the garden. But Berlin is a big city! And with that in mind...

Let’s create more community gardens all over Berlin - we’ll help you do it!

The Allmende-Kontor is supported by
workstation ideenwerkstatt berlin e.V.anstiftung  and the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt. Thank you!2014 logoleiste
